Kerberos Configuration

You will need to add the following line to the "/Library/Preferences/edu.mit.Kerberos" file under the "[libdefaults]" section:

allow_weak_enctypes = TRUE

IT Services is working on a new "KerberosConfig5.pkg" package installer that will include this line in the "edu.mit.Kerberos" file.

Kerberos Login

The current "KerberosLogin.pkg" package installer does not work on Mac OS X 10.7. You will need to edit the following line by hand in the "/etc/authorization" file under the "<key>system.login.console</key>" section from:

<string>builtin:authenticate,privileged</string>
to:
<string>builtin:krb5authnoverify,privileged</string>

IT Services is working on a new "KerberosLogin.pkg" package installer that works for all Mac OS X 10.5, Mac OS X 10.6 and Mac OS X 10.7 versions.

Mac OS X 10.7 and Rosetta

Rosetta is not supported on Mac OS X 10.7. If you have PowerPC applicaions that you need to continue to use, see if there is an Intel version of that application or find a suitable replacement.

Mac OS X 10.7 telnet

The "telnet" program that comes with Mac OS X 10.7 does not have encryption. The previously compiled Mac OS X 10.6 version does not work on Mac OS X 10.7. IT Services is working on a telnet program for Mac OS 10.7 that does encryption.

Encrypted telnet is needed if you use one of the "isua" machines.

Zephyr Utility 1.3

The Zephyr Utility's zephyr programs do not work with Mac OS X 10.7. The previously compiled Mac OS X 10.6 version does not work on Mac OS X 10.7. IT Services is working on the zephyr programs to make them compatible with Mac OS X 10.7.
